Honestly, mage isn't great in f7 (especially as cata 30) w/o hyperion. I played bers until about cata 32 then switched to mage when I could afford a hyperion. I assume you're having trouble finding decent parties as a mage w/o hyperion whereas archer with bones (or even melee tank/bers/healer) might still get you into parties.First, swap to your tank gear. You can do this whenever 300 score is reached. Then, stand around the stairs to the conveyor and aggro to protect mage/arch getting crystals. Once 2/2 crystals is placed, get maxor into it. Do it by standing on the other side of the conveyor and keeping the aggro.

LCM setup would involve a GS/Claymore for dmg (+ a few other things) and RCM involves pure right click like Ss and midas staff. You also build it differently compared to RCM. Tf is LCM.
