GMC dealer diagnosed this as needing a rear differential clutch at a cost of 3200.00. 2800 for the part (??!!) and 400 for labor.Without any mechanical knowledge, get it to a shop for an estimate. This only occurs when the A/C is in the on position. Sounds like a compressor bearing. Will have to take in to the dealer for a diagnosis.

Mine is a little different in that most of the times it occurs from 1200-2000 rpms. The transmission was replaced when it was under warrantee, and we just got the transmission fluid service from the dealer 2 weeks ago.Some vibrations occur in a geometric progression.
