The SG20 Mid should get you in at less than 1.5" and if you have a really bulky powder, there are several wads in the 1.3xx" range from other producers. The biggest problem is finding a wad that'll work. The only real readily available one ounce wad is the Rem SP20, which is highly priced and overly fragile (wad explodes into fragments when firing). Alot of powders suitable for one ounce are so dense that even with the correct amt of shot, if you use a sp20 wad, they crimps dish WAYY inIf you are really stuck on 1 oz, look at the Alliant powder book, several good loads listed. Its main purpose is to ease feeding of the wad on some reloading machines. SP20's are good substitutes for the WW20F1 but are expensive if you shoot a lot. Try the Windjammer 20. Although the factory lists them as a 7/8oz. wad they work well with 1oz. if you use a low dense, sitting powder like HS6. The Duster orange 20 is a 7/8oz. wad, period. It sits high with about any brand/type powder.If you stick with RXP20 wads, I would go with the 15.5 grains over the 16.5 grain load (but you are really splitting hairs as it is 1200 vs. 1250 fps). I just like the slightly lower pressure (especially if used in sub-gauge tubes).
