Sounds like poorly done CRC. The only time I've experienced that burnt popcorn/sulfur taste is from very shitty shit crc wax. Typically a sugary consistency, almost white/very light yellow, smells like vick's vapor rub.The 350°F-375°F range also provides the maximum THC delivery, so ultimately, low temperatures are the best in terms of both flavors and effects.
