The starter would not engage or turn over when I hit the push button. I checked all my grounds and other wires and had 6v at the starter post.

Yes the H for sure had a low low gear option, still had the 5 speeds , but a low first gear , not sure on the rest of the ratios. If the # tag is still on the tractor have a look at the suffix after the main s/n, may end in X6,X6A,X6B,X6C. Could also end in other low gear suffixes if it has any other options, eg kerosene,high altitude engine etc.

Gentlement: My son bought a Farmall that has a very old decal on the hood indicating a Super H. The one number that I can read on the brass tag that is on the clutch bell housing is 196352 X1. The engine number is FBH-196352 X1. I understand that the "X1" means gasoline.
