The action is ridiculously smooth, the texturing on the pump and stock is fantastic, and the controls are extremely smooth.

On my Ithaca/SKB 600 12 ga the choke sizes are stamped on the r/h side of the barrel block just below the ejector arm. FWIW the old catalogs don't list a 500 with SK/SK chokes. 28" barrels were F/M, and 26" were M/IC. Here's what I see that affects value. Keep in mind this is based on my two 37's-they are in very similar condition to the one you have. a) poly-choke. Without it, I'd pay an extra $50. I have one from 1947 with a vintage poly-choke on it that I purchased (not including trade) for $225. It was in about the same shape as yours.
