Level scaling is incredibly flawed where the gym leaders scale their levels to be higher than yours, enemies are fully EV trained where you don't have mechanisms to adjust your IVs, natures, EV train, etc, the leaders have Megas starting at the 2nd gym while you are stuck with awful encounters, the enemy has weather and terrain effects that benefit them exponentially while giving you no ways ...Also damn your team has a lot of common weaknesses, I would probably try working on that first. Simply having a decently well rounded team can go a long way. I played on expert. I would recommend some hard hitting dark-types aswell. If I recall correctly the 4th gym used 2-3 fighting types aswell.
