Just forward of the fuel tank, the line makes several sharp bends and also changes from rubber to metal line. 9 times out of 10, the leak is at this point. It's a much easier fix. you just undo the line, cut off the bad part by the end and re-attach.I've got an 88 Wrangler 2.5 EFI 5 spd. There are no visible disconnected hoses or ports at the engine that I can find. The FSM doesn't provide any documentation on fuel line routing, connections, etc, and I cannot find a fuel line schematic anywhere. I've got the metal return line capped for now, but it really should be properly connected.

I ran a 6AN pressure line from the LS regulator to the engine and completely removed all of the Jeep fuel system. I also made the short return like Novak suggests.to test the regulator, un plug the vac line to the regulator and the pressure should go up 8 to 10 psi. to around 40 psi. if the regulator is working ,when you rev the motor the gauge will shortly go up and then back down to 31psi. if the pressure goes way beyond 42 or more then the return line is plugged or kinked.The fuel return (is 5/16" hose) and the vent / rollover is 1/4" hose. Note that the TJ's don't have a return fuel since the fuel rail regulates the pressure. In our YJ's, excess fuel is piped back into the tank. If it's only leaking while it's RUNNING AT the tank, it's most likely your return line and/or hose clamp. Loosen the back bolts and remove the front to tilt the tank forward so you can inspect. My bet is it's a hose clamp at the fuel pump. I own a 93 YJ and a 99TJ, YJ's have a regulator on at the fuel rail with the return going back to the tank and TJ's have a single feed line with all regulation in the tank as part of the sending unit.
