It seems to me that the T-Mobile gateway (I have the 5G black square box model KVD21) does not allow for any kind of dhcp modifications but most importantly does not allow for Port forwarding. I have several ports from the outside world that I need to forward to one of my internal PCs. M2 and D are primarily used for download but are also used for SRS which the Base Station at the tower uses to estimate channel quality of the client. Got on the phone with TMO support, we eventually had to factory reset the extender and connected it via LAN to the TMO gateway. It took some time and going thru all the Netgear prompts and setup.
