We clocked all loads in the Glock 42. We also fired six loads at random in a Ruger LCP II for comparison. On average, the Ruger lost 38 fps in velocity. We also fired three loads in a Colt Government Model 380, which lost an average of 26 fps. The Glock is no slouch on velocity despite its short barrel.
Neither. I carried a G42 when they were released in 2014 for 8 years until I used the 42 on a Coyote in a hay barn and it did not do what I feel was near sufficient. I have hit a Coyote in a barn in the gut with a 38sp and it balled it up. The 380 hit him the gut too with not near the effect. Dec 16, 2018 · Due to the size and weight it is more "snappy" than the other 380's. The original LCP was nothing more than a "copy" of the P-3AT whereas the new LCP II is a bit larger and heavier with a much improved trigger. For me the G42 is just too big for pocket carry. I would have to carry IWB or OWB. The SIG P365-380 Uses the same modular fire control unit and grip frames as the 9mm P365s and in most cases, P365 holster will work with the new .380 ACP model, too. I consider the LCP to be more of a point shooting/face gun to stop an immediate threat. My LCP is also a Gen2 model, so the trigger and sights are easier for to to control than the older model. What I like more about the G42 is the Glock Safe Action System, and also because the slide locks back after the last round is fired.
