I have an intermitted AC clutch issue. My compressor engages, but in hot weather it turns off. After reading numerous posts on the interwebs, I theorize that that the air gap on the clutch is too large. Heat is causing expansion, which makes gap too large for electromagnetic clutch to engage.

Result was a $2k repair that Honda is going to cover out of good will. It is out of warranty. I am being asked to pay $200.00 and probably will but I think I will also contact the 800 number. I did not find anything in this forum or in other places that talked about the replacement of the 2000 Odyssey AC compressor but I found a posting in the 3rd Gen forum that was a DIY and had pictures. Between that posting and the service manual, I was able to make it work. In retrospect, however, I should have stayed with the service manual.
