I believe this is Ft Payne chert. Found in WV. I was reading that there are deposits of this all along the Southern part of the Ohio river. Absolutely beautiful stuff. I’m not a knapper so I don’t know how it flakes but it makes a nice point. I feel like Mr. Caldwell might have some experience with it because it is found over his way.Look at the color. I can tell you that this chert came from Texas but I don't know what county. This was a small spall. It's tough as nails.
