It has started making a clicking/ticking sound that can be heard in the cab pretty good and once window is rolled down, it is even louder. It sounds like it is coming from the rear end or bed area.

Some people do find different brand oil seems to quieten the noise some but experimentation is key for some because not all oils act the same in all engines..I have a 2003 Duramax and I had that ticking problem when I bought it. I put in the diesel fuel supplement in the grey bottle according mixture on the bottles directions to raise cetane level and lube injector pump and injectors. in one treatment ticking was gone and real noticeable power improvement. worked real well!!I have an 01 duramax that I recently replaced headgaskets in.
