Was at the Colonial in Mar. 2023. Beautiful place. Food was great. Staff amazing. Clean. Beach was excellent with very little sargassum. It was busy with the Spring Breakers but that negative was all about timing. Overall I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Majestic resorts. Stayed in the Colonial Club. Room directly on the beach.

Staff is very friendly, beach is absolutely beautiful, food is good, yummy drinks. Every where we went was clean and you constantly see staff cleaning and doing landscaping, the property is beautiful.
Elegance might be a bit fancier but the Colonial is very nice. There might be a more upbeat vibe at the Colonial. These 3 resorts don't have exchange privileges. The Elegance had more people at it and seemed to be more active in the evening. That could be due to the Mirage only being a year old and not selling out yet. We've also stayed at the Barcelo Beach Palace once. Totally different experiences. The Barcelo is a mega resort but the ocean seems calmer at the end of the beach.
