Nioh 1 first weapon was a Kusarigama. Nioh 2 first weapon was a Switchglaive. I was also a new user but invested into all of the weapons to see what plays the best (for me) The combo strings of the Switchglaive is something else start low go medium end high, reverse it or start medium go low end high. Amazing weapon thats why I recommended it.
Focus on Magic. Focus on leveling up Magic as it scales the most with Switchglaive. Constitution and Skill are also good skills to level up since they also increase its damage output, and allows you to equip Light Armor. Tengen Kujaku is probably the best Guardian Spirit of all non-starting spirits in Nioh 2. It has an incredibly high Anima Bonus damage stat and elemental attack boost. This is by far the most powerful spirit, which will fit almost all attack-based builds.
