As the title says I'm about to start my first, blind playthrough of Solasta and was wondering which difficulty to choose. I'm no stranger to cRPGs and I typically play them on the highest difficulty setting unless it's Perma-Death or so absurd that it's not much fun (Pathfinder: Kingmaker's Unfair difficulty, Hard was perfect for me though). Solasta is the best and most faithful implementation of DnD 5th Edition rules in a video game. In this respect, it far surpasses BG3. 1 Modding solasta very easy took me around thirty minutes. 2. I am using the Community mod and unfinished business the two of them are working fine with the new DLC. 3. The community Mod opens up the background so you can choose whatever you like of the professions available.

Solasta's subclasses in general are better than in 5E D&D. I believe this is intentional to compensate for the inability to multiclass. So, 3 pillars of D&D: Combat, exploration and social interactions. Combat is a wash for me. They both are great, and while I like Solasta a tiny bit more, it's mostly because I've more time invested in that systsm. Exploration is so much quicker in Solasta, but I do like BG3's 3 dimensional exploration a titch more than Solasta's.
