I ran my dog awhile so she would hunt extremely close. Here we go into cover, she was working the grass and I was parallel to her.This year, another buddy and took my lab and his rookie GSP for a 5 day public land hunt in Nnovember. After fuel, meals, motels and license, the trip cost about $750 each. We put limits in the air within gun range everyday. I think ditch hunters can get a bad rap because it gives the impression of being lazy. And ditch hunting is very illegal when after big game like deer but people still do it illegally.
