It doesnt, but it does affect the sword hit. If you dont know the darkmoon gs has two hitbox when you do a charge attack. First is the beam, and the second is the sword swing itself. So if you do the attack point blank, which you should, you get a pretty substantial extra damage AND poise damage. Forgot to explain that in my first comment

Moonveil is really fast to use and does great damage. The nerf hasn’t changed that in the slightest. I think most weapons are better than the DMGS. Dark moon is pure unusable vs a lot of bosses and it's not just because of the cast time for the special. The Dark Moon Greatsword is good, but compared to the Sword of Night and Flame, it's mediocre. The FP cost to buff the sword is too high, it activates too slowly (3.5 seconds is INSANE), and the buff doesn't last long enough. Night Comet on the Sword of Night and Flame is probably 20% overtuned IMO. Note: I have both of these weapons at +9.
