Crank no start but will…. 2015 Chevy 2500 with 6.6 duramax. Crank no start but will start on ether and run fine. Hand pump will build pressure but it bleeds off pretty quick. Ran a hose from external tank directly to injection pump and still wouldn't build enough pressure to start. The injection pump has been replaced.The fuel pressure regulator 2 outlet volume test must be performed while the no start condition is present or incorrect diagnosis may occur. Engine cranking for 15 seconds. Observe the volume of fuel from fuel pressure regulator 2. 2011 LML the DEF/ Emissions have been removed EGR blocked etc, with some EFI tune. The guys took the truck to an auction to pick up some equipment and got back to the office and it would not start. After going through it the shop mechanic has done the following: Replaced the fuel filter, Installed the Fuel filter pump rebuild kit from MA.Turn key off position try agin and hold in start 3-5 seconds & truck fires up. I should note that when it starts it runs great no issues. Also, the times I have manually pumped the fuel filter head assembly it primes up hard as a rock. I have to push it anywhere from 3-5 times then it firms up.

The newer 17 models finally use a fuel boost pump to correct the starve issue. I know I’m a little answering this, but thanks to all for the advise.
