My current plan is to build a main base on the wooden posts by the field station left of the oak tree. Anywhere central on the map is probably the best bet, but also having some smaller outposts in each of the harder areas isn't a bad idea. Personally, didn't start over, but the story did restart.

Zip lines are perfect there. What we did, was build a foundation completely around the oak tree. Then zip lines to evwrywhere on the map, and lines back to the pond/oak tree area. You can use scaffoldings plus trampolines to Ascend really high. I was trying to make a zipline a similar length to a similar spot and couldn't get it to be unobstructed until I realized i was trying to connect to the side of my home zipline anchor. I made a new one facing where I was trying to zipline from and it worked. The major limiting factor on their usage is angle of descent - the steeper the incline, the faster you move. If it isn't steep, expect a leisurely pace.
