You need the red research notes, I think they drop from the hazmat suit wearing zombies. You'll need paper a quill and ink and the notes I think 10 or something mate.

In vanilla, Junk Turrets were mostly just garbage. Their ammo's best use was just being bulk crafted and sold, never actually being fired at anything.
