Rotate the crank until the gap in the reluctor wheel teeth straddles the flange mounting surface of the upper oil pan. Loosen the nut on the oil pump, pull the oil pump drive gear off. Slide the reluctor wheel assembly off. If you think it might be a rod bearing, pull the filter cut it open, unroll the filter media and take a look for metal, you can also order an oil sample kit, take the sample send it in and it will also tell the tale, if its a bearing.
