New and old can be separated by the mark on the back. The authentic Hull mark is formed with block style lettering. The new mark is a cursive or script-style lettering. The same new mark also appears on reproduction 10″ orchid pattern vases. Differences are most obvious in the double L's. Roseville Pottery. Roseville Pottery during their years of production made very few changes in their marks and signatures. The different patterns in certain years would use the same signature with variations including pattern names and sizes. there are a few of the major marks I have been unable to get images of, but the following images covers the largest part of Roseville Pottery.As with all the Ohio Potteries Hull collectors will continue to come up with new numbers from old pieces and old pieces with no numbers. This collection of numbers will try and concentrate on just the lines that are numbered and are at the present showing a value to collectors. A very nice vintage double handled California studio pottery ceramic vase by Catalina Pottery, circa 1930s. Great look and form on this gorgeous robin egg blue and white vessel. The piece is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and measures 4.5"W x 4"D x 6"H. Hard to find piece of Catalina Pottery!Often times a piece of china will bear two marks in this way: one beneath the glaze, indicating the factory that produced the blank, and the second above the glaze indicating the decorator. Much Haviland china, for example, bears the green underglaze mark "Haviland France," and the red decorators stamp: "Haviland & Co. Limoges."
