If it takes you 3 minutes to do legend and 8 to do master then master is not worth it. If it takes 4 minutes to do legend and 4:20 to do master then master is better. Master lost sectors do have a higher drop rate, but because legend can be run much faster it works out to be faster to farm legend instead of master. For the time it takes to complete one when compared to Legend Lost Sectors, the drop rate increase isn't noticeable enough. You are always better off going for Legend clears, as they are significantly faster to complete, whilst having a similar enough drop rate (IIRC Legend has a 20% or 25% drop rate, where as Master has a 30% or 35% rate).There is way too much RNG involved to have this low of a drop chance. I've seen that the Legend lost sector has a 25% drop chance (lol okay sure) and Master only has 33% (literally no point in doing master other than for triumphs). That means there is 25-33% chance to get ONE exotic armor drop.For all the reasons you mentioned and more, the drop rates, large exotic pool, and RNG-based stat rolls make farming lost sectors absolutely worthless, in my opinion, outside of getting your first roll on an exotic to unlock it. I want lost sectors to be cool/moderately tough content for solo players.

With all the changes, bungie made it's surprising that they didn't solve this Lost Sector drops issue. I ran todays lost sector 12 times and got only one exotic drop, unluckiest I have ever been. Some people have started keeping track of large amounts of platinums. They’re getting well over 30% for legendary.
