Some just don't like to be forced to interact with animals, such as those afraid of dogs or allergic to dogs and cats. Some are against the idea of owning pets as they feel it is immoral to keep a sentient creature trapped inside a small yard or house. Some are against pets because they are bad for the local ecology and the overall environment.
