With multi hit you also get reduced exp with weapons. The setting assumes you're always hitting the maximum number of targets with a multi hit weapon. So if a crowbar only hits 2 enemies, you get 2/3 the normal exp because it could hit 3. But durability is still calculated assuming maximum target struck.I wouldn't say people hate on it so much. The general consensus of this subreddit tends to be "play how you want to play." That being said, the people against it would just say it is unrealistic and/or it makes the game too easy.
