Its not octane as much as cylinder cooling with additional fuel that make the higher percentages slightly beneficial. Theres a higher percentage of fuel at like AFR with higher percentages.

A bunch of people make billet wheels from stock up to a 68/94mm wheel and you can use gt37 (stock) and gt40 turbines which should be plenty big with twins.Factory iron block and crank. Good rods and pistons. Factory square port heads and even an LS3 intake/TB would probably get you to 1200. I run stock 5.3 truck parts (good rods and pistons) with cast manifolds and an 80mm turbo, and a comfortable tune up (with room to grow ) is at 1000.
