Dec 17, 2015. #3. You may run into other issues with running bio. From reading, VW does not approve of 100% bio use. It apparently dilutes the oil and causes issues with the internals. I believe even bio produces PM, which is the main reason for the DPF. It is just the nature of a heavy distillate fuel to produce PM.

Here's a shot of the parts that came off the car. You can see the DPF filter, EGR filter, and primary and secondary cat with exhaust flapper. Behind that you can see the passenger side drive axle. The DPF unit alone is a lot heavier than it looks. I'd estimate it to weigh at least 45, maybe 50 pounds.

An EGR delete is useless imo, if your car isn't burning oil it won't get clogged up. When the throttle is close to the floor or the rpm is over 3k the EGR stops interfering and acts like it isn't there. It helps with emissions when cruising or idling.
